TORONTO – Charges against the brother of a murdered Mississauga, Ont., teenage girl have been upgraded to first-degree murder.
Waqas Parvez, 27, was originally charged with obstructing police after allegedly misleading investigators concerning the death of his 16-year-old sister, Aqsa Parvez in 2007. He will now stand trial alongside his father, Muhammad, also facing a first-degree murder charge.
Friends of the girl said she had been feuding with her family over her refusal to wear a hijab.
Aqsa had been living with friends for the two weeks prior to her death because of the family dispute. However, on the morning of last Dec. 10, she was at home, where police say she was strangled before 8 a.m.
Police said a man had called 911 and said he had killed his daughter.
The girl’s 57-year-old father was arrested that day and later charged with second-degree murder. Those charges were upgraded to first-degree murder earlier this month.
I wonder how many feminists will be out their chanting for these guys’ blood?
